What is the aim of the standard?
The standard aims to make sure that people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss are provided with information that they can easily read or understand, and with support, so they can communicate easily with health and social care services.
This should lead to improved outcomes and experiences, and safer, better services.
The Standard is there to help NHS and adult social care services to improve, so they can better meet the communication and support needs of disabled people.
How can we help?
We want to get better at communicating with our patients. We want to make sure you can read and understand the information we send you. If you find it hard to read our letters or if you need someone to support you at appointments, please let us know.
You can complete a form which are on our reception desk and indicate your preference, or please call the surgery and speak to one of our reception team. We will then update your medical record.
